How does the Invoice Generator work?
Upload your firm's pricing rubric (rate card) and the client's previous year tax return. The AI reads the return to identify every form, schedule, and complexity factor, then applies your pricing rubric to generate an itemized invoice estimate.
What pricing rubric formats are supported?
PDF, CSV, spreadsheet (.xlsx), or plain text. You can also paste your rate card directly into the text box. The more detail in your rubric (base fee, per-schedule rates, per-state charges, complexity factors), the more accurate the estimate.
What tax return types does it support?
Individual returns (Form 1040 with all schedules), business returns (1120, 1120-S, 1065), and trust/estate returns (1041). It identifies all schedules and supporting forms automatically.
Is the invoice final or an estimate?
It's an estimate based on the prior year return. The actual price may vary depending on changes in the client's tax situation for the current year. We recommend using it as a starting point for client conversations.
Is my data stored?
No. The tax return and pricing rubric are processed in real time and never stored on our servers. As with any AI tool, avoid uploading documents with sensitive information you're not authorized to share.
Can I customize the invoice header?
Yes — add your firm name, company name, client name, invoice date, and invoice number in the optional header section before generating. These appear on both the screen preview and the downloaded PDF.
